Electrical FAQs
Electrical work on period and modern homes needs the right competence for the accepted scope. These FAQs explain how briefs are triaged without inventing fixed prices or response times.
How are electricians assigned to a job?▼
We match the accepted scope to appropriately qualified personnel. Where registration, Building Control notification or certification is required, that route is confirmed for the job before work starts — not claimed generically from a service label.
Do you carry out EICRs?▼
Yes, where the brief fits current capacity. An Electrical Installation Condition Report is scoped to the property size and condition. Landlords should check their legal inspection intervals; homeowners often request an EICR for insurance or purchase decisions.
What do I need to send for an electrical brief?▼
Postcode, description of the fault or project (rewire, consumer unit, new circuits, lighting), photographs of the board and affected rooms, and access notes. For flats, include floor level and any freeholder rules.
Will I receive certificates after electrical work?▼
Where the accepted scope requires an Electrical Installation Certificate, Minor Works Certificate or notification, we confirm that route in writing and provide the documentation that applies to the completed work.
How is electrical work priced?▼
Pricing depends on circuit count, access, fabric openings and finish-making-good. Written quotes state the price basis, inclusions and exclusions. Period solid walls often need more time than modern cavity construction — photographs help triage that early.
